Villa Le Trois Mâts

Although the house is lovely and near the pool, the service and facilities were very disappointing. It’s advertised for 10 people, but only one toilet and shower can be used: the second one is blocked by its own toilet, which leaves the door unable to open properly. The kitchen is small and sits in a narrow hallway you have to cross to reach the living or dining room, which is absurd for a place meant to feed 10. The decor is quite nice, but the amenities are subpar, and you need to bring or buy everything to stay comfortably. The location is beautiful, but I’d avoid it.

The scenery was the saving grace. The listing sounds dreamy, but the reality was a disappointment and didn’t match what was offered. The villa is advertised for 10, yet only one toilet works. There are two bathrooms, but in one, the toilet seems to have been installed with the door open, so it won’t close. Great for privacy 🙃, and it leaves just one usable bathroom for the whole group. Basic supplies were missing, including toilet paper, coffee, a bath mat, and dishwasher tablets. There was no smoke detector, and several heaters didn’t work, so you’d better not feel the cold. Communication with the owner and any solutions offered? None. We were disappointed, since there was no room for discussion about the listing not matching the house.

The owners showed no sense of service, and the house was nothing like the Airbnb listing or website description. It was hard enough for five people with just one proper toilet and shower rooms instead of bathrooms; I can’t imagine managing with ten. The listing said there were two toilets. The outdoor chairs were worn out, the upstairs fans were barely standing, and the old vacuum cleaner provided for basic cleaning made us laugh. As seasonal renters, we had followed the contract, paid the deposit, and respected the house and neighbors, but the owners’ beautiful photos made for a misleading listing. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend this house.

There weren’t enough dishes, cutlery, or glasses to serve 10 people, and the bathroom setup was just as impractical. A toilet on the landing between two bedrooms has a door that can’t close because the toilet was installed with the door open. That leaves only one other toilet and shower usable with privacy for 10 people. The distant owner acted as if she’d only just found out, didn’t seem bothered, and offered no solution. If she really hadn’t known, you’d think she’d be shocked by such an absurd setup. The advert and review, possibly fake, sounded enticing, but the experience was much less so. We laughed for about five minutes picturing the installer trying to close the door on the way out. The price and blatant dishonesty soon wiped that out. Avoid this place.
