Hôtel & Spa les Mouettes

It was a quiet, comfortable stay, and we couldn’t hear the many breakfast guests from our room. The pool area seemed clean, though smaller than the website photos led us to expect. Our room was a decent size and the bed was quite comfortable, but the layout felt wasteful: a long desk and sitting area, yet little sink space in the bathroom. We couldn’t work out how to close the skylight blinds against the morning light, though I’m sure staff could have helped if we’d asked. Service felt very average. There wasn’t much energy or smiling, and no real effort to make us feel special. It’s a nice, quiet place, but the high-season prices felt relatively steep, so we wouldn’t return.

We had a really nice stay, with a beautiful view, our own pool, and an outdoor jacuzzi. The room was small, but had the essentials: tea and kettle, a mini bar, and pool towels. Parking was convenient and roomy enough for a larger car. Breakfast was plentiful, though gluten-free options would have been good. The staff were friendly and hardworking. We’d stay again and recommend it for a short break.

The hotel grounds were beautiful, and its location beside the road between two charming towns was convenient. My room had a lovely balcony overlooking a garden-like setting, though some rooms have ocean views. Adeline gave me a warm welcome, made me feel at home, introduced me to the hotel, and pointed out the lovely trails to nearby beaches and towns. One small suggestion: the curtain didn’t block out the light, and being near the stairs made my room a bit noisy in the mornings. That wouldn’t be a problem if you’re an early bird.

The hotel is about a five-minute drive from Collioure, and I wish it were right in town. Still, we had a great stay and would happily return. The rooms were nicely done, breakfast had plenty of good choices, and the pool and outdoor jacuzzi were beautiful. Kids are allowed to use the jacuzzi too.
