We were really looking forward to staying at Mon Fare, but the night turned into a stressful mess. I booked through Priceline, and the property says it sent self check-in instructions ahead of time since nobody would be on-site. I never got them, and I don't know whether there was a technical glitch or something else. We arrived confused by the lack of staff and got in by accident as someone was leaving. Then we were stuck on the grounds for over two hours because we didn't have the gate exit code. Panicking, we had to call the police, who contacted the owners to get the code. I tried calling several times, but nobody answered. We never actually stayed, yet the owners charged us $131 CAD. When I contacted them to explain and ask for a refund, they were indifferent and refused. If there was a glitch, they should understand. It felt incredibly unfair, especially since I'd saved for three years for this vacation. After all that effort to make the trip happen, I felt completely disregarded and unsupported. The owner was heartless and unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend Mon Fare or Priceline, and I won't book with them again.

The ravioli with escargot and the shrimp with risotto were delicious, and both arrived presented in an unexpected way. We chose the two-course menu, with a starter and a main, and were warmly welcomed at this cute restaurant. We came across it through a recommendation during a visit to a nearby winery, had a wonderful meal, and would go back next time we're in the area.

It was a shame we could only stay one night. The place was tidy and nice, and the people were very friendly. They speak a little English here, too.
