B&B HOTEL Argenteuil

We all enjoyed our three nights here with a group of 40. The food in the restaurant was wonderful, and the place was very clean. The staff were lovely and helpful in every way. The only downside was the parking. There’s no shortcut from it to the hotel, so getting all the bags over as a group was difficult.

We were here for the Olympics to watch hockey, and the venue was just a stone’s throw from the hotel. It was a convenient place to stay, and the restaurant downstairs next door served great food with friendly service. It was good value for our money. I hope more sports events happen nearby and keep the hotel buzzing.

The shower setup is annoying because water splashes all over the floor. Breakfast was a real letdown: there wasn’t much choice, and nothing fresh apart from the bread. The eggs came from a plastic container and had been microwaved; they weren’t pleasant. The bacon was a strange grayish color and cold. There was no fruit except in the yogurt or as purée, and just a small plate of Comte and turkey in the tiny fridge. Given our situation, I’d stay for the convenience, but I’d never pay for breakfast here again. It was disappointing and made the stay feel like poor value.

The room itself was clean and comfortable for the price, which makes this experience all the more frustrating. I stayed two nights, and drilling in a nearby room woke me on both mornings. After the first morning I complained and asked for that night to be refunded. Staff said other guests had complained too. I filled out a refund form and reception told me the manager would review it an hour later. When I checked back that evening, the staff member on duty knew nothing and told me to return in the morning. The drilling woke me again. I asked the same staff member whether the manager had replied, and she said the manager was sick that day. When I pointed out that the day before she’d said the manager would review the form, she said the manager had been sick yesterday too. That directly contradicted what she’d told me, and she had no answer when I said one of those statements had to be a lie. She then said the manager would email me. I’ve still heard nothing. Something feels badly wrong with either the staff, the management, or both.
