Sophie’s homemade cake and mulled wine were a lovely welcome after our hikes, and dinner around the big shared table was just as good. Out on snowshoes, we followed Gérard’s expert lead beneath a bright sun, discovering the Bauges countryside and stopping for a picnic in a beautiful spot. Sophie and Gérard make everyone feel comfortable and cared for. We’d love to return.

Drying our clothes overnight by the wood-burning stove was a real help. I stayed three lovely days with eight other people, and our hosts made us feel at home. The rooms were comfortable and charming, the bathrooms and reading room were lovely, and we had delicious homemade dinners and packed lunches. They even served pasta soup with a big metal spoon. Lovely people, lovely gîte.

The meals were really good, the bedrooms comfortable, and the hikes thoughtfully planned. Sophie and Gérard gave us a wonderful way to discover the Bauges massif. Such a lovely stay, definitely worth discovering.

The food was a highlight, especially the delicious New Year’s Eve dinner, along with the picnics. Sophie and Gérard put a lot of care into preparing everything, using local or homemade products. We were so happy with the warm, friendly welcome at La Fruitière d'Arith, and they really went out of their way to make us feel good. Many thanks to them.

Gérard did a great job adapting the outings to everyone’s abilities and to the weather, and we saw some memorable landscapes. I spent a refreshing week at the Arith cheese dairy, including New Year’s Eve. Sophie and Gérard are a cheerful, friendly couple.
