I was worried after reading the reviews once I’d booked, but we had a really enjoyable stay. We were in room 22, and the staff were very kind. The room was comfortable and had the basics, which was enough for a short visit. It can be a little noisy, but if you’re not sensitive to that, you’ll fall asleep right away. After walking around Paris on a winter day, the bath’s strong pressure and hot water were especially welcome. One small suggestion: a soap dish and a shower curb would make the bathroom much more comfortable. You can find one on Shein for less than 5 euros. We had a great time and can’t complain. ☺️

My booking was cancelled before the free cancellation period, and I couldn’t get in touch with the property. They claimed my card had been declined, although my bank confirmed it was fine. I think they cancelled because the room now costs much more than it did when I booked. I’d never had anything like this happen before. I called several times and sent messages through different channels, but got no answer. This felt like a scam. Please learn from my mistake and find somewhere else.

The street was in a good, safe area, but no better than other streets nearby. You can find a better hotel for the same price near the Luxembourg garden. The beds were hard, though comfortable. We’d booked three months ahead and had customer service confirm an early check-in. The room wasn’t ready when we arrived, which would’ve been fine, except our bags weren’t put in a locked room. They were left in the lobby where anyone could take them. Three hours later we got the keys, and the room had black mold and a horrible cigarette smell. The window was wide open to cover it up, but the smell was still just as strong 24 hours later. I cancelled the rest of the week with a huge headache, probably from the mold and cigarette smell. The bathroom shown on the booking website was nothing like the one we got. The front desk said they’re all the same: a 24-by-24-inch square on the floor, with a slimy shower curtain you can’t avoid touching. There were no shelves or hooks, so I had to leave clothes in the sink and soap on the floor. The room had only one electrical outlet, and it tripped as soon as I plugged in a USB device. There was no safe either. Just a terrible room. Before cancelling, I was told I’d only be charged for the first night if I cancelled before 11 am the next day. Twelve days later I was still waiting for the refund. If it had been issued right away, I wouldn’t have posted this review. The experience kept bringing the negatives back to mind. The hotel has stopped responding about my refund, so I’ve now involved MasterCard. Stay somewhere else.

The location is perfect, and the staff were okay. The room was tiny but fine for a short visit, and it was pretty clean. Still, there’s no fridge, AC, or sound insulation. Noise was the worst part, it felt like I was sleeping in the same room as the rest of the hotel. Don’t waste your money. Pay much less for a hostel or spend the same on a better hotel.
