Du Musée

Coming back each evening felt like coming home. The Hotel du Musee is a city sanctuary made from connected home spaces, with garden terraces on several levels that also serve as extra breakfast seating. The interior gardens are lush and green. I'd stay there all day if the river weren't a block away and the Baths of Constantine Roman monument weren't right around the corner! The rooms aren't all the same, lined up on long, dull corridors. Each has its own character. Ours was big, clean, bright, and full of light and fresh air from the windows. It even had a mini-fridge for the things we bought at the market. We loved it and would stay at this exact hotel again, only for more than three nights.

We really enjoyed our stay, especially in the late afternoon when classical music from a performance at the Musée across the road drifted over. The hosts were warm and helpful with restaurant ideas, and our comfortable room was a good size by French standards. The hotel has a lovely old-fashioned, family-run feel in the historic district near the Rhone. There are two steep flights of stairs to manage when checking out with medium-sized bags, though our luggage was brought up when we arrived.

Room 24 looked over a little patio, and everyone we met was lovely and helpful. Breakfast had plenty of choices and was excellent. The location made it easy to walk everywhere. The staff's restaurant picks were great too, especially Le Criquet and La Gueule du Loup. Arles has loads of good places to eat, and Hotel du Musee is a great base for enjoying them.

The breakfast was amazing, the rooms were clean, and the staff were really friendly. It's also in a very good location. WiFi kept cutting out, though, and the AC shuts itself off, so it only runs for about 20 minutes at a time.
