Hotel De Langlais Guesthouse

The owners, Filipe and Pierrick, live on site and were lovely to talk to. They shared the history of the house and Arles and gave us excellent suggestions for local dining. Though it's called a guesthouse because it has only a few rooms, the service felt like a hotel, including daily room cleaning. Every chrome fixture in the bathroom was polished each day. The beautifully renovated space combines modern, high-quality fittings with the charm of the historic building. Breakfast was superb, with fresh pastries, homemade jams and yogurt, fruit, and fresh juice. It was very hot during our visit, but the room's air conditioner was whisper-quiet, and the saltwater pool was a welcome break from the Arles heat. We spent four weeks travelling around France, and the hospitality at Hotel de l'Anglais was the best of the trip. It exceeded every expectation.

Filipe gave us wonderful recommendations and went out of his way to make our stay memorable. The property is lovely and perfectly placed for taking in the sights and sounds of beautiful Arles.

We chose this place on a spontaneous RoadTrip over New Years 22/23, partly because its Google and booking scores were flawless, so we arrived with high expectations. It lived up to them. The house is stunning, and sitting in the lounge hearing the owners tell how it came to life was a real pleasure. The service was worth 100 stars. Breakfast was fresh and homemade, and their dinner recommendations were outstanding. They even made restaurant reservations for us on NYE, which we really appreciated. Check-in, check-out, helpful suggestions, and the lovely chats throughout our stay were all handled with warmth. I can't put everything into words. It's a special place in a lovely town, and we'll definitely come back!

The hosts were fantastic. They made dinner reservations for us and shared details and suggestions for sightseeing, restaurants, and more. We also loved the library: it's packed with books about local history and sights, as well as beautiful art books, many about Vincent Van Gogh, who lived and painted in Arles. We had a wonderful bedroom and delicious breakfasts. Everything about our stay was superb, and we'd return in a minute. If we could, we'd give it 10 stars!
