ibis budget Clermont Ferrand Sud

It’s clean, secure, convenient for travelling across France, and relatively cheap, though prices have risen notably since 2020. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, as well as a Lidl supermarket. During a heatwave, our room got uncomfortably warm overnight because the air conditioning wasn’t working properly.

The rooms were beautiful and clean, with lovely bed linen, and we had a comfortable night’s sleep. The preset air conditioning was rather noisy, and you only get one towel per person. Remember to pack a hand towel.

We booked through an app, arrived within 10 minutes, and everything was ready for us. We got a really nice welcome. For a basic hotel, this is one of the nicer ones. The rooms are simple, but very clean and comfortable for the price, with a TV, en suite, heating, and air conditioning. The listing says there’s a restaurant, but there isn’t one on site. That’s fine, as there are plenty of places to eat just steps away. Breakfast was the usual continental kind and totally fine. No problems at all, and I’d stay here again.

It’s clean and comfortable, and OK if you’re on a tight budget, but I wouldn’t stay more than one night. The window is too small to let in enough natural light. When you first walk in, the room gives the impression of a hospital room, in its look and smell.
