Hotel relais de gascogne

Great.

It was okay.

The management was the worst part of an already bad stay. When we arrived, a man was smoking inside. Later, music and talking from the next room, along with cigarette and cannabis smells, spread through the hallway. After our requests to the neighboring room were ignored, we called the manager. The neighbor kept smoking openly, apparently without bothering the owner. Rather than speak to that guest, they moved us in the middle of the night, with no consideration. The owners seem to care about profit over who stays there, and handling problems felt nonexistent. The location was just average, there was no parking, and the facade badly needed attention. The rooms were functional and well laid out, with satisfactory soundproofing from the busy street, but ours needed a full overhaul compared with the neighboring rooms. The small refrigerator made an unpleasant noise at night. We didn't eat at the restaurant, so can't comment on the food, but the decor looked very outdated.

The staff were friendly and attentive, and the welcome was excellent. It’s very close to the center, though parking is extremely difficult. The rooms were clean, but felt old and some things didn’t work properly. The telephone cord crackled constantly, which seemed like it could start a fire, and the toilet didn’t stay in place well. From the photos, the other rooms looked better.
