Camping Le Parc

Our little cabin was right beside the river, in a lovely spot. The bathrooms were very clean, too. Definitely recommend it.

After the devastating March flood, they’ve done a good job getting the campsite ready for the 2024 season. It’s such a peaceful place on the banks of the River Vienne, with big, mostly shaded pitches, spotless facilities, and an easy walk into town. There’s a bit of a retro feel, which I liked. I hope the local frogs are still around making all that noise!

The river views were spectacular, and we really enjoyed our day here. The site is quiet, sheltered, and the pitches are a decent size. Everything we needed was at the simple bar, and the showers were clean. Staff were friendly, efficient, and very helpful. You’ll need a little French, which is nice. We found lovely cycling routes nearby and a nice bakery. One of the best sites we stayed at, for sure.

The owners are lovely and friendly, and the bar and restaurant serve good, simple food at very cheap prices. A glass of wine was €1. The campsite itself is basic and peaceful, right on the Vienne, with only a short walk, less than 1km, into Availles-Limouzine village. The facilities are basic too.
