It’s a family-run place tucked in an alley, which keeps it quiet, yet it’s right by the center. There’s a market nearby on weekends. Just be aware that they don’t speak English.

Not good. I called to ask about making a reservation, but the girl at this “hotel” didn’t help me. Nobody knew English, Polish, German, or Russian.

My large electric bike could even be charged in the entrance ;) The breakfast was delicious and reasonably priced, and the rooms were clean. It’s a peaceful spot with a warm welcome, just a few steps from the historic center.

Parking is extremely difficult here, even on a motorcycle, though with a lot of effort it might fit in the hallway. This gîte sits in a picturesque area of Avallon’s city center, but it’s completely unsuitable for people with disabilities. The owner was polite and friendly, the breakfast was nice, and the heating worked well.
