Apart'Hotel Sainte-Marthe

I was disgusted by the lack of response from the hotel. I booked three nights well in advance, but circumstances beyond my control changed my transport a day before the stay, so I needed to shorten the booking to two nights. I tried repeatedly to reach the hotel, including through several messages on booking.com. They didn't acknowledge any of them or confirm whether they'd keep my reservation if I missed the original arrival date. I had to cancel because I couldn't be sure I'd have accommodation for the next day. I've raised this with booking.com and will be asking for a full refund. Avoid.

The receptionist and the electric maintenance service deserve five stars, and the location is great, right by the city's defensive walls. There's also a splendid view from the third-floor roof terrace. But the cleanliness was one star for me. The shower hadn't been cleaned when I arrived and had lots of hairs and other remains. Then, when I unfolded the white bed linen, I found another long hair right there. The cleaning staff clearly need to be changed. Disgusting.

The hotel has a gym on the ground floor and a supermarket right next door, and the location is great. The room was spacious, with its own little kitchen, and clean, though a bit old. The beds were average. The rooftop terrace took some effort to find and closes early, but the view is nice. Good value for the price.

The rooms felt quite tired and could have been cleaner, but I still had a good stay for a couple of nights last month. For what you pay, the location, privacy, and kitchenette were fantastic. I've seen other people mention the rules and fines for late checkout or not taking out the bins. The prices were so cheap that those requirements didn't really bother me.
