Garlande Hotel Avignon Centre

This quaint little hotel was a lovely place to stay, and we liked our room's view of the street. The only thing that threw me was the sloping floor, which made me feel a bit tipsy. I understand it's a heritage building, so there may not be much they can do about it. The couple who run the hotel are really kind and sweet. We chatted almost every day, about everything from where to find spicy food to tarot cards. They also gave us great tips for visiting Provence and things to do in Avignon. We couldn't fit everything in, but the suggestions we did follow were worth it. The detailed email instructions saved us a lot of hassle, and the service was a real masterclass in hospitality. Breakfast was my one small gripe. I found it a little repetitive and bland, though that's probably more my preference than the hotel's. It was all homemade, so I made sure to eat well, and the hot chocolate and coffee were the best. The location is great too, with pretty streets, restaurants, cafés and shops close by.

We stayed in La Madeleine, one of the apartments at Garlande Hôtel Avignon Centre, and it exceeded our expectations. Breakfast was the best we had on the whole trip. The owners and staff were warm, professional and went out of their way to make our time in Avignon special. We loved it and would gladly stay again.

The location is just perfect, and the hotel itself was amazing. Stephan was such a kind and helpful host, with great information and tips for our Provence trip. Breakfast was delicious too, especially the pastries made by Stephan’s wife. Thanks so much, Stephan. We highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

A great place to get a feel for Old Town Avignon and be right in the middle of it. The hotel sits on a pedestrian street with good restaurants nearby, about halfway between the train station and the Pope’s Palace. It's an 18th-century house that has been renovated into a hotel, with thoughtful details for travelers. There are electrical outlets all over, fast WiFi, working HVAC and a roomy bathroom. The rooms are on the small side but adequate, and breakfast is good. Service is one of the best parts, very personal and almost instant.
