Nos Cachettes

A terrific apartment with a great host, a terrace we really enjoyed, and a fantastic location. It was clean and excellent in every way. I'd recommend staying here.

We stayed at Les Cachettes for a few days and were warmly welcomed by the owner. The apartment was comfortable and pleasant, right in the heart of Avignon's historic center.

The studio is classically furnished and well equipped, in a building with five apartments spread across the ground, first, and second floors. It's tucked into the little streets behind the Palais des Papes, about 500m on foot. There are a few interesting restaurants within 300m, and Place de l'Horloge and more restaurants are 500m away. The pedestrian streets are about 600m away. Arriving by car takes some planning. Access along the narrow street is difficult in a longer vehicle, so expect to unload your luggage there. For the rest of your stay, I'd avoid street parking and use the Palais des Papes parking garage, 600m away.

The hostess is great, and the apartment is cozy with a perfect mattress. It's a peaceful, tucked-away place, furnished with a fridge, hotplates, coffee machine, toaster, microwave, and the utensils you need. The Popes' Palace is a five-minute walk away. Just be aware there isn't air conditioning, only fans, and no mosquito nets, which is a problem in summer. There is a washing machine with a dryer.
