Auberge de Banne

The restaurant was a bright spot, with delicious food, and our receptionist was genuinely welcoming and gave us useful ideas for exploring the area. We were also allowed to use the pool, which we appreciated, though it was closed during our May visit and a short distance from the hotel rather than attached to it. Several things made the stay uncomfortable. Our first room had no hot water, so we were moved to another one. Later, the owner confronted us in front of other guests and said the problem was our fault. We explained politely, and the receptionist subsequently tested the water and confirmed the issue, but the owner kept insisting we were wrong. It was embarrassing and inappropriate. The welcome at check-in was poor too, with no greeting or acknowledgment from the owner. The online description also lists an art gallery, but the receptionist said it hadn't been there for at least as long as they had worked at the hotel. Between that and the pool details, the listing didn't match what we found. The kind receptionist, good meal, and pool access helped, but poor management and misleading information overshadowed them. I hope the hotel improves its communication and hospitality.

The Auberge de Banne is even better in person than it looks in the photos, which is unusual. Such a lovely place, and the staff are as helpful and kind as they come. If I could, I'd move in.

The setting outside is beautiful, and inside is just as impressive. We had dinner, and every dish was delicious, with generous portions. The service was really good too. Perfect evening, we'll definitely be back.

From the moment I arrived, I had a good feeling about this place. There's a large front area with a fountain and cheerful people around. The rooms are tastefully done, with lovely decor, great beds, and comfortable mattresses. Our dog was welcome, though the 30 Euro per night charge is a lot. We knew about it beforehand. The location is perfect, the price felt fair, and service was friendly and quick. Breakfast was generous, and both the plat du Jour and a la carte food were great. I'd visit again if I get the chance.
