Little Suite - Lazare

A good base for a city break, within walking distance of everything we needed. The decor was nice, breakfast was wonderful, and the staff were very friendly. There’s a parking garage next door at the Opera, 15,50 euro for 24 hours, with a maximum height of 1.90 m.

We stayed in a deluxe room, which was a very good size, with a huge bathroom and a really comfortable bed. It had no window because it faced the internal courtyard, but we were only there at night, so it didn’t bother us. If you want the heat or air conditioning adjusted, reception controls it centrally and you need to call them. The service at arrival was lovely: she gave us a map and pointed out lots of places to visit. The hotel was a good fit for our short stay in Lille, an easy 10-minute walk from the Eurostar and just a couple of minutes from the old town.

Our rooms were ready when we arrived early after a long road trip, which really made our day. The staff were also very helpful with our other requests. The rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable, and the location is great, just a few minutes’ walk from the city center. The nearby Opera parking is convenient too. What stood out most was how attentive the staff were to our requests.

The front desk staff were very warm and friendly. Our first room didn’t feel worth the money: the bed tipped up when you sat on it, the basin wasn’t very clean, and there was hair on the mattress covers. Housekeeping had also left no tea or coffee, and someone had to come in to fill the minibar. The room felt rushed. The gentleman did upgrade us to a slightly bigger room, but the website makes the rooms look more luxurious than they really are.
