We were looking forward to staying somewhere remote so we could get a bit of a getaway from the cities. Then, after I texted to ask about picking up the keys, they cancelled our accommodation. They said there was a calendar issue and they couldn’t host us. We’d read the earlier comment about the place not being ready and couldn’t believe the same thing had happened to us. Maybe it was double-booked, or maybe they simply forgot we were coming. What a shame.

The hosts, Isabelle and Albert, were wonderful, attentive to what guests needed while still being discreet and respectful. We stayed in a spacious, comfortable cottage with a kitchenette and room to eat indoors or outside. Breakfast from Isabelle was top-notch, and the pool was especially pleasant in the Provençal heat. The place is quiet and spacious, right in the heart of the Montagnette, and the summer views of the stars are not to be missed. It’s also perfectly placed for exploring the heart of Provence, from Arles and Avignon to the Pont du Gard. We’ll definitely be back.

Le Mazet has four ground-floor apartments, each with two bedrooms and a well-equipped kitchenette. Breakfast is included and can be brought to you on a tray. It’s tucked into a pine forest, but still close enough to Barbentane. A great place to disconnect and recharge!

A unique place to spend the night, and excellent value for money. This former wine estate has a superb atmosphere and has been restored with a lot of care and expense. The owners have kept the original style.

We arrived to find the place locked, with no advance warning that there was a problem. There was barely a friendly word and no apology. We had to find another solution at the last minute. Avoid at all costs.
