Hostellerie du Château d'As

Really good.

The room service is good and has been updated. For a one-night stay, I found the quality, quantity, and price to be excellent. Dinner was tasty and generous, with the flavors and seasoning just right. The atmosphere is quite subdued, and sometimes a little stuffy. That might be the one thing to improve, but it doesn’t stop me recommending the place.

I had to leave early, but they put together a tray with a little breakfast for me before I went. The service was great. The meat and dessert were excellent, generous, and very well prepared, and the pâté en croûte was surprisingly good even though I’d never have picked it myself. For a night’s stay, it’s excellent value. The hotel has some recently renovated rooms and a charming feel, with the occasional creaky staircase. I hope I can come back.

The food and service were both exceptional at a very affordable restaurant. It was a delightful gastronomic experience, and I’d highly recommend it. My room was charming and clean, with a beautiful city view. The bathroom was small but practical. The decor felt a little dated, the only slight downside.
