Logis de Saint-Jean

The included breakfast our host made was delicious, and the bedroom and bathroom were spacious, clean and updated. This lovely guest house is right in the heart of Bayeux, within walking distance of the train station, restaurants, shops and museums. We loved staying here and look forward to returning next time we’re in Bayeux.

House Saint-Jean is ideally placed for restaurants, laundry facilities about a five-minute walk away, the Bayeux Tapestry Museum and Bayeux Cathedral, which is over 1,000 years old and still an active Catholic church. Bayeux also makes it convenient to visit the Normandie coast, the D-day beaches and their museums, Point du Hoc, Arromanches, and the American Museum just above Omaha Beach. We had a marvelous time on our day excursions and will be back. Valerie is a marvelous host and runs a great bed and breakfast. We stayed in the cozy room off the courtyard, beside the breakfast room. It was perfect for two, with a very comfortable bed and shower and toilet facilities that were more than adequate and added to the room’s charm. The complimentary continental breakfast was delicious: Valerie makes different breads and cakes, including cheesecake, chocolate and cinnamon, and serves homemade black currant, plum and apricot jams with baguette. The apple juice was to die for, the orange juice hit the spot, and the fresh fruit was the best part: back cherries, apricots and watermelon.

Valérie served a delicious French breakfast every morning, with homemade jams, bread and bakery items. The Chambre d’hotes Logis de Saint-Jean is centrally placed within walking distance of the train and Bayeux attractions. My husband and I enjoyed our stay, and our quiet room met our needs well.
