Le Petit Matin

Breakfast was delicious, with homemade jam, breads, cake, several cheeses, yogurt, juice, croissants, and cereal. I especially didn’t expect Pascal’s homemade green tomato and lemon juice jam from his garden. He also gave us directions and recommendations for restaurants and things to see, and he replied quickly to our emails. We felt like guests in his home. My husband and I stayed at Le Petit Matin in Bayeux in February. Pascal was friendly, attentive, and helpful, and it was a nice surprise to be offered a larger room. It was beautifully decorated and comfortable. I’d definitely stay at Le Petit Matin again.

Bayeux is a charming, sleepy little town. Shops and restaurants open late and close early, and since we were there on a Sunday and Monday, many shops were closed, as is typical in France. Parking is on the public streets, and it took us a while to find a spot. That small hassle was outweighed by how lovely everything else was. We stayed two nights after a long trip in Paris. The beautiful little manor house has large rooms with immaculate decor. Pascal made us feel welcome and offered great recommendations. His breakfast was superb. It’s also a great base for visiting the D-Day sights and Mont St Michel.

We had a lovely stay at Le Petit Matin Bayeux. Pascal was a very helpful host, and his breakfast table was beautiful with a perfect selection of food. His homemade baking was really impressive!

We especially enjoyed starting the day at those big breakfast tables, with lovely food and a beautiful setting. Pascal was warm and shared plenty of useful ideas for places to visit and eat around the area. At Le Petit Matin, our room was spacious, spotless, and tastefully decorated, and the whole place felt charming. Bayeux's sights and center were easy to reach on foot, and getting there was straightforward.
