You'll want a car, since this B&B is 3 km from the main part of Bayonne, but I thought it was well worth the drive. The hosts are incredibly welcoming, friendly and helpful. We had breakfast on the terrace each day, with fresh bread, fruit and homemade yoghurt. The rooms stayed cool even during July's heat, despite there being no air conditioning. They have fans, and ours also had a mini fridge, coffee maker, kettle and wardrobe space. There are plenty of odd little touches too, including a lamp with angel wings, feet and a devil's tail. The place feels like an eccentric art installation and a peaceful oasis. There's a Malagasy Baobab made from a repurposed butane tank, Amazonian masks and sheep wearing berets. You really have to see it to believe it.

Even though it's quite far from the city centre, this is an amazing place for a night. One of the most beautiful places I've ever been to. I strongly recommend it.

Having breakfast on the balcony with a view of the lush garden was a delight. This house is more than a guesthouse, it's a place filled with art and design that makes for a lovely experience for the senses.

The rooms have a loft-like feel, and the house has distinctive architecture and decor that made our getaway feel romantic. The welcome was discreet but very attentive, and the hosts gave us really useful tips about the region. Breakfast stood out for both its quality and generous amount. Go for it!
