I was in the area for a wedding and really liked the Saint Anne suite. It’s a beautiful, peaceful apartment with a comfortable bed, plus a charming garden and a superb view over the river and bridge. The woman managing it was incredibly thoughtful: she helped me iron a shirt, brought tissues when she noticed my girlfriend had allergies, and offered me water for the drive home after a night of drinking.

I found Beaumont sur sarthe a little disappointing. The village felt sad to me.
