The accommodation itself was pleasant and cleverly laid out, with a balcony, but the host's handling of the elevator outage made this an unacceptable and deeply disappointing stay. The elevator had been out of order for almost 10 days. I learned this only after calling Schindler and Foncia customer service. The host already knew about it 10 days before we arrived, but despite our explicit, repeated requests, never told us. We were traveling with a baby and a wheelchair user with reduced mobility, and I had to carry that person up and down a spiral staircase several times. We could have canceled if we'd known, and we should have, especially given how basic the accommodation was: one roll of toilet paper, minimal kitchen utensils, no bedside table, and so on. I regret what felt like a purely commercial relationship, with the host apparently more concerned with taking the money than our circumstances. I also regret the host's behavior and suspect the information was withheld so we wouldn't book somewhere else. I won't stay here again and can't recommend this person. I deliberately changed my rating from 3 stars to 1 after the host's response on Airbnb, which I found provocative and symptomatic of blind commercial greed. The host seems satisfied with the bare minimum, as if immediate profitability matters more than a comfortable stay.
