I'm expanding on my review because the owner didn't like it. I went on my own, hoping for a decent glass of white and then a red Burgundy, but both wines were very poor. The bread wasn't fresh and was soggy, and the starter was dull. I expected beef bourguignon to be a safe choice, but the meat was tough and the potatoes undercooked. Dessert was OK. When I was leaving, the owner asked, “bien passé?” I said “oui” because I didn't want to make the rest of my evening worse by getting into an argument.

I had lunch here on Monday, when many restaurants are closed, and would happily eat here again. The service was good, the location was great, and the food was traditional, just as expected. Their Google rating is 3.8, which doesn't match my experience today. Sorry about the photos, we started eating before we could take them and couldn't resist.

The hotel staff pointed us to this local restaurant, and the food was prepared very well. The beef stew was rich, with really tender meat. For dessert, the pear had been slowly cooked in a warm red wine sauce, and it was perfectly done. The white wine went very well with it.

We booked a table on the restaurant's website about 20 minutes before we expected to arrive and received an SMS confirmation. But when we got there, staff said they don't handle online reservations and couldn't seat us. It was surprising that they sent a confirmation if they couldn't manage the system. I can only assume they gave our table to someone else. The way the staff spoke to us was unprofessional. I'm writing this in English so tourists know a confirmed booking may still not get them a table. In a connected world with AI, I can't accept a restaurant being unable to control the system it uses.

The food was a mixed bag: the supreme de poulet was good, while the fish was a little bland. The white wine was pricey for standard table wine. Staff were friendly and service was at an OK pace, though they weren't very attentive and we had to ask several times for water and the bill. They wouldn't let us sit by the window because the table was untidy, which seemed odd, since they could have just cleared it. The interior could use an update, and the paintings give the place a slightly off atmosphere, though that didn't really affect the meal. It's casual French classic dining, not a bad experience, but there's room to improve.
