LOctroi Saint Jacques

Breakfast was classic French, with yogurt, fruit, fresh bread and pastries, plus local cheeses and ham. Monsieur even brought out his “special digestif” 🤣. The rooms were comfortable, and the location right in the historic centre is great. The owners are super friendly, generous, and helpful, and made us feel so welcome.

The hosts were friendly and so hospitable, even with the language barrier. It’s quiet, in a great location, and breakfast is plentiful. A tip for anyone driving with Google Maps: the parking gate is on Bd S. Jacques, just past the left turn for Rue Hotel Dieu. It’s on the left. A must-stay!

Salva and Jocelyne made our stay at Octroi Saint Jacques one of the highlights of our trip to France. They were incredibly kind and welcoming from the moment we arrived. We had a clean room with a lovely bathroom, air conditioning if needed, and a separate entrance from the main part of the property, so we could come and go as we liked. One little thing: we first mistook the room door for the main entrance, so no one answered when we knocked. Go to the front gate directly off Boulevard Jules Ferry and ring the bell. The B&B is just minutes from the centre of Beaune, making it easy to explore and pop into town for food or a drink. They can provide parking, though we came by train. Salva and Jocelyne speak French, while I speak very little, but we managed to communicate and they helped us during our stay. Breakfast was wonderful, and we enjoyed the local spirit Salva poured for us. We were hoping for a comfortable stay with kind people and a chance to feel part of local life, and Octroi Saint Jacques gave us exactly that. Thanks again to Salva and Jocelyne for making it so memorable. It truly was the best, and we hope to return someday.

The gardens are beautiful, and Joselyn and Salva are excellent hosts. The location is perfect and breakfast was great. We’ll be back!
