Villa Eden Cap

They cancelled our paid holiday booking for no good reason, so we had to cancel the whole trip.

Such a shame, because this is a beautiful location with room to improve. The rental is barely maintained, all the air conditioning is broken, and only one key is needed to get in and out, which feels unsafe.

The terrace was enormous, with a dining table, ping pong table, and sofas facing the lake, though the weather kept us from using it. We only stayed one night between Easter and Sunday. Finding the villa took some effort, but the staff were kind and patient, and right on time for the appointment we arranged. There were four bathrooms and they were all very clean. One had a whirlpool tub that we couldn’t get working, two had hydromassage showers, and one a regular shower. The bathrooms also had two sinks and a bidet, and each had a decent hairdryer in the cabinet, not one of those uncomfortable travel or wall-mounted types. The house was on two floors. It had one bedroom with a double bed and single sofa bed, two bedrooms with two single beds each, another twin room with a walk-in closet, and a living room with a corner double sofa bed. The living room opened onto a kitchen with an induction stovetop and everything we needed except a tablecloth. The woman who gave us the keys showed us the Dolce Gusto pods for breakfast, which we appreciated. There was also oil, salt, spices, vinegar, paper napkins, tea, and chamomile tea. Every bed had two clean towels, a thoughtful touch for a house rather than a B&B. My main gripe was the jumble in some bathroom drawers, including old samplers and broken electrical outlets. One bathroom had toilet paper that had already been used. A few doors were chipped, probably from humidity, but that was minor. We were very satisfied and would choose the accommodation again, even though we’re unlikely to return to this city.
