Résidence Odalys Les Villas de Bel Godère

The maisonettes are clean, new, and functional, and the beach is close by.

The apartment is pleasant and has everything needed, with very nice dishes. The cleaning could have been better. What concerned me most was the narrow, slippery staircase with no handrail at all, wooden, rope, or otherwise. It’s a serious risk for older or overweight people and small children.

The location works well, with shops close by and the beach walkable. We got a friendly welcome, and the pool was lovely, though it wasn’t heated at this time of year. Air conditioning in every room was welcome, and the apartment had plenty of dishes. The accommodation itself is nice but showing its age, and the bedding is very hard. Cleaning was disappointing, with cobwebs and dirty windows. Linens, towels, and TV are all extra. We had a pleasant stay, but for the price I’m not sure this residence is worth it. It also makes me question Odalys’ image.

There’s a bakery and a Spar open every day about 300m away, and the residence is well placed for visiting the main sights of Haute Corse. The welcome was friendly. We didn’t try the pool, but it looked like a pleasant spot, with deckchairs and little straw umbrellas. Our duplex was clean and functional, though showing its age. Soundproofing was fine, and our neighbors were quiet. The chairs, though, made the familiar annoying creaking noise you get in these residences. Sliders, please! 😉 The staircase is very steep and dangerous, and some safety equipment would help. The apartment had dishes and everything was listed on the website, including the extra cost for sheets, towels, and TV. I think people know what they’re booking, and the more attractive prices are part of choosing Odalys.
