The Originals Boutique, Hôtel Neptune, Berck-sur-Mer

The building with the attached apartments, which sleeps 8, is very dated and needs a thorough clean. The bedsheets smelled of smoke, there was mould on the walls and cigarette ends on the balcony. I emailed the hotel after returning home but got no reply. There was no parking available either. I wouldn’t recommend it.

We stayed in September, and it was one of the worst hotels I’ve ever been in. Our room on the fourth floor was really small and looked like an unfinished project. The food they gave us was terrible.

Being only a few metres from the sea was especially convenient with small children. It’s a quiet place, the rooms are well equipped and very clean, and the service was good. The people are nice, and the fresh food was good value for the quality. A very good stay by the sea, with a hotel and restaurant that offer great value. Call ahead if you want a private parking spot, or try your luck finding a free space nearby.

The room was small, really just somewhere to sleep rather than spend the day, but it was always tidy. Everyone was friendly and tried their best to communicate, even though nobody spoke German and only a few people knew a little English. The location was great, and I imagine an ocean view would make it even better. Breakfast was good.
