Camping de Sagnat

For what you get, it felt quite expensive. During the three days I was at the campsite, the toilets and showers didn’t seem to get cleaned.

If you’re after a quiet place with few comforts, this campsite could suit you. It has big shady pitches and is a lovely site, but it’s very run-down: the facilities are dated, the bins along the road were full, and there were hardly any people around. It could be a top campsite if it were better maintained. The price was average, €25 for two people and a van for one night.

Lake Sagnat is right next door, and the setting is lovely for spending a few quiet days. The campsite is small, peaceful, and pleasant, with fairly large pitches that can be sunny or shaded, though they aren’t clearly marked. There’s a bar serving food, including hot meals. Pity there’s no bread service in the morning.
