There are plenty of places to eat or grab a drink nearby, and the hotel sits opposite both the station and a cinema. Freight trains can be noisy in the morning, though I might not have noticed if I’d been fully asleep. There’s no hotel parking, but street parking is free at night, and the station car park is free too.

It’s dog friendly, though they did take a €100 deposit. The hotel has a quirky feel that might have seemed interesting 30 years ago, but it now feels neglected. Breakfast was poor: there was cereal, but no bowls, only shallow plates.

The room was just okay, and we had no hot water for an entire day. Being right by the train station also made it a bit noisy. It wasn’t a terrible stay, but if there’s somewhere else available in town, I’d choose that.

Renovation work woke me early every morning, the shower water was cold, and my room wasn’t cleaned once. The manager’s service was terrible too. This was definitely the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.

There was a sewer smell, cold showers, and my room wasn’t cleaned at all during the week. Construction workers were on the property at 8 in the morning, and the front desk didn’t respond reasonably. Avoid this place.
