Dinner was memorable in its own quirky way, and the food itself was genuinely very good. The service was patient and friendly, even though we spoke very little French. The rooms were the letdown: cramped, stuffy, and broken. The food was amazing, but those rooms were awful.

We only came for dinner, not to stay, and were so pleased we found this little gem after a restaurant down the road ignored us and turned us away. The meal was really, really good, and the service was great. It turned out to be our lucky day.

We stopped in Bèze on the way through and found a double room for €90, with breakfast extra. The receptionist was friendly, the room was very clean, and the bed with its white bedding was comfortable. The shower was fantastic, especially its unusual mist setting, which I'd never seen before. Still, for the standard of the rooms and shared areas, the hotel felt expensive. The room was a little scruffy too, and a light fitting hung down with the wiring exposed. There was plenty of parking. The restaurant was superb, though, with excellent food that made our stay enjoyable.

Book ahead if you want a table, especially on a Monday, when the other places in Beze are closed. We stopped just for dinner, and the typical French menu was stunning. The service was fantastique, and even my picky British teenagers loved it. I'd definitely recommend it.

The traditional French restaurant's food was incredible, and it was lovely watching everyone enjoy the atmosphere and their meals. We stayed one night while travelling back from the Alps and were pleasantly surprised by how spoilt we felt by the food. The receptionist was very warm and welcoming. I only wish we'd had more time, because we'll definitely have to come back. Really worth a visit.
