Les Criquets Hôtel & Spa

I’ve never met anyone as rude and vile as MELANIE, the manager. She taunted me when I arrived to check in after I couldn’t cancel because of an emergency, and said she was giving me a room without AC during a heatwave as punishment. The rooms are run down, it’s FAR from tourist attractions, and there was no AC. I wouldn’t want to stay at this hotel again. MELANIE has a horrible attitude and no knowledge of how to run a hotel. She should find another job somewhere where service, care, and hospitality aren’t required. I’d advise anyone to stay away.

My stay was mainly ruined by my encounter with Melanie. She was unbelievably rude and unwelcoming, and I still can’t believe the establishment employs someone so horrible. I was alone and afraid for my safety, so instead of staying here I booked another hotel and had to pay for two hotels on this vacation. The hotel feels like it hasn’t been renovated since the 80's. There’s no elevator, the AC didn’t work during a heatwave, and it’s far from the bordeaux city center with nothing to do nearby. The room did look clean, but my recommendation is to stay away from this hotel/motel.

One of the best meals I’ve had in France in many, many years. I’m looking forward to visiting again.

The beds were uncomfortable and the service wasn’t great. On Monday night, we went out to dinner and couldn’t get back into the property because the code had been changed without anyone telling us. It’s a quiet location, though a bit way out, and the rooms are spacious and clean. We also struggled to find food on Sunday night because all 3 restaurants in the area were closed, so plan yourself accordingly if you stay here.
