La Halte Montaigne

Isabelle made us feel at home from the moment we arrived and gave us really helpful tips on buses, trams, places to visit and areas to avoid. She was a wonderful host, and our stay at her B & B was a pleasure. The room was tidy and comfortable, the breakfast room spacious, and there was a lovely courtyard garden. It's handy for the transport hub and close enough to the city centre to walk. A great experience all round.

Lovely rooms, a great breakfast and so much care with the details. Don't bother looking elsewhere, this is the best you can find. We'll be back.

La Halte Montaigne was a great place for the three of us, just a short walk from the train station and tram. Isabelle was a warm, caring hostess who knew her stuff. The breakfast was delicious: juice, coffee and warm milk, fresh bread and croissants, yogurt, cheese and a range of fresh fruit. She was happy to chat, and gave us useful tips on taking the tram to the city centre and buying the Rugby ticket for 48 hours of unlimited hop-on, hop-off trips. The Rugby championship was in town, but we managed to avoid it. Our room was spacious, and during those sweltering early September days Isabelle kindly showed us how to use the much-appreciated A/C. Lovely hostess and a great stay. We hope to come back soon!

Isabelle was kind, flexible and welcoming, and had arranged everything in the house with lovely taste and care for the guests. It's an ideal base for visiting Bordeaux, about five minutes from the main station and a tram stop. Breakfast was incredible, and by chance we ended up having a lovely conversation with other guests. I feel like Isabelle's place draws nice people, which is something special. We'll definitely be back.
