The room was in awful shape when I finally got in: mold on the walls, cobwebs, dirt everywhere, no soap, and a coverlet that smelled as if it hadn't been washed properly, maybe not at all. I felt uncomfortable touching anything. The reservation promised a desk, but there wasn't one. This place clearly isn't being maintained. Even at a low price, I paid for a room and expected basic cleanliness and service. Completely unacceptable, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Getting inside was a mess too. I arrived at 14:00 for check-in, but the card machine wouldn't work. The emergency number was useless, nobody picked up or the numbers were unavailable. I tried everything and couldn't find anyone around; even the cleaner didn't know what was happening. I only got into the room an hour after arriving.

For a budget overnight stop while passing through Bordeaux, it's reasonably okay. The staff were friendly, and the breakfast is €6.50 for a buffet, which is fair enough. Pets are allowed for €3 per pet per night. I can't really comment on the surrounding area. The rooms and bathrooms are both very small, and the room has just one power outlet, nowhere near the beds. Thin walls mean you hear the hallway and doors opening and closing, and the hotel WiFi was practically unusable. Breakfast is supposed to start at 6:30 AM, but during my stay a staff member took 45 minutes to open the room.

The rooms and bathrooms were covered in mold, spiders and dust, and water from the shower ran under the bathroom door into the room. I've never had breakfast without eggs or meat before, except at this miserable hotel. I think conditions are better in Africa than here. I'll never return and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. 😬 We arrived at midnight with a reservation, but the machine wouldn't take Visa or MasterCard. After half an hour of trying, I managed to pay with a credit card. The person answering the emergency number only spoke French, so communication was simply impossible. The accommodation was the worst.

Premiere Classe hotels can be inconsistent, as at Orleans Nord, but this one was spot on for me: inexpensive and cheerful, clean, with good service and a decent breakfast. Handy if you need to stay in Bordeaux.
