Kevin is very difficult to communicate with, except by text, where his messages felt like taunting. The booking itself was a mess too. We'd reserved an apartment with air conditioning for two nights through Booking.com months ahead, but on the day we arrived, we were given a ground-floor unit without it. The manager suggested cancelling the second night and finding a suitable apartment at the last minute, and said he'd cover the cancellation fee. We did that, but he didn't keep his word and sent us back to Booking.com. They confirmed he was preventing a refund.

The way this was handled was discourteous and unprofessional. When I called the hotel, Kevin brought up my review but didn't acknowledge his own conduct. He said there would be no refund, then hung up. We'd booked a room with air conditioning on Booking.com and arrived in 40-degree heat to find there wasn't any. He offered no fix, if he even tried to find one, and after promising by message to refund us, he went silent for a week and a half. Leaving a review seemed fair. To clarify what I told you on the phone, we booked an air-conditioned room through Booking.com. Any mix-up between your general services and the platform that brings you business isn't our concern. Your information says dogs are accepted and that guests should notify you on arrival. It's very hard to hide a Malinois in a travel bag, and as stated, we would have told you when we arrived. All the best in a line of work you seem to enjoy.

The sofa bed had some questionable stains beneath the sheet, and the apartment couldn't be locked. Still, it was mostly clean, cozy and roomy, in a very central spot. We were especially pleased to have air conditioning.

The location is lovely, in a renovated old town hall, but we won't stay again. For what we paid, it wasn't worth it. We were in a mezzanine room for one night, and the cleaning left a lot to be desired. My son had a mattress on the floor that hadn't been made up, just a sheet and an uninviting blanket, so he and my husband had to make the bed themselves. One pillow smelled of sweat, there was no wardrobe, and the sofa bed was really uncomfortable.
