Hôtel Les Tilleuls, Bourges

Such a delight. The staff treated us like royalty, and the room was pristine.

We stopped here on the way home from the Pyrenees, and it was fine for that. The room was a good size, clean, and tidy. There aren't many places to eat within walking distance, but we found a great pizza place beside a craft beer microbrewery that we'd recommend. It was one of the best pizzas I've had. La Petite Fabrique is next door to Brasserie Bros Bar. The cold breakfast had a good selection of pastries.

Boulangerie Tradition is only about a two-minute walk away. We stayed in a room for four, and there’s a bus stop nearby with a free bus into the center.

The room was clean and big enough, and breakfast had plenty to choose from: fruit, bread, tea, coffee, ham, cheese, yogurt, and French pastries. I also liked being able to keep my towels and skip daily changes. The reception staff were helpful and there when needed, but discreet. There’s free parking opposite with around 50 spaces, though the hotel’s own parking costs €15. It’s not downtown, but the location worked well for my stay.
