The building and some of the decor looked a bit tired, but the hotel suited what we needed. Our room, the staff, and breakfast were all fine, and we could walk into town easily. Bourges is a great city, and we must come back and spend more time there.

10/10
The restaurant dinner was very good, better than what we’ve had at Ibis hotels before, and the hotel is ideally placed in the city. We enjoyed our short stay, except that the room listed a double and a single bed, while the single turned out to be a very uncomfortable convertible chair that wasn’t adequate.

Our stay had to be extended unexpectedly, and the staff made all the difference. Everyone at the Ibis Bourges was friendly, efficient, and helpful, especially manager Fred. The hotel is very clean and well run. We particularly appreciated the evening restaurant, with daily specials and a main menu that’s appropriately sized and priced. The bedrooms are small, but the bathroom is ample. We enjoyed staying here.

8/10
The room had a comfortable bed, air con, and a large TV. It was fairly spacious but basic, as you’d expect from this kind of chain hotel. The bedroom floor was dusty in spots, though the separate toilet and bathroom were very clean. Staff were polite and helpful. The modern hotel has a lift serving its three floors, and free on-site parking, though spaces are limited. It’s a 15-minute walk from town, in an area that looks rather run down.

The location worked well for all our walking and driving excursions, and hotel guests can park for free.
