We stayed here on two separate nights and really liked the old French style room. The bathroom was spotless and excellent, and breakfast was homemade, with very good coffee. It’s a quirky little bijoux hotel, and the private parking is secure. I was quite concerned by the area when we first arrived, but once we got inside the secure grounds, everything was fine.

The breakfast was delicious, and the host was especially warm. The owners have decorated the place with wonderful taste. Walking through the door felt like stepping into another world of old fashioned charm. Highly recommend.

The breakfast alone would bring us back, with excellent coffee, homemade jams and brioche, fresh fruit salad, cured meats, local produce, delicious goat cheeses and natural yogurts. We stayed at L'Oustal, Bourges, on August 2nd 2023, in one double room and one triple. The host couldn’t have been more welcoming, and the house is ideally placed for walking into central Bourges. It’s full of creative, unusual decorative pieces, and the rooms are individually decorated and named after historical French figures. They were exceptionally clean and comfortable, with all the amenities and bathrobes. It’s hard to explain just how lovely this bed and breakfast is. We were sorry to leave and would gladly return.

The owners made us feel very welcome, gave us a map, and talked us through getting around and finding good places to eat. The rooms were lovely and spotless, and breakfast was lovely too. We also really enjoyed the character of the house. I’d recommend it to anyone.

The place was clean and tidy, and staying there felt like stepping back in time. Our hosts were genuinely thoughtful and kind. Breakfast was amazing too, the sort of meal you’d share with your family. We had a wonderful stay.
