We really enjoyed how quiet it was, surrounded by nature. Booking just an hour before arriving, we were still welcomed very warmly that evening. Everything we needed was there, and the bed was very comfortable, though its 1.60 m width felt a little narrow for the two of us. The accommodation is rather small for two tall adults, and the bathroom especially is tiny. The sink is the standard small guest bathroom type, so brushing our teeth splashed water around. The shower needs replacing: its doors are very stiff, and you have to hold the shower head in place. The narrow bed isn’t the landlady’s fault, of course.

The place was far out in the dark countryside, away from inhabited areas, and I felt so uneasy I couldn’t sleep during either of my two nights. The phone lines were noisy, and the internet didn’t work. Our 23-square-meter unit was tiny and uncomfortable, and the bathroom was just as cramped. There was dust, cobwebs, and a horrible musty smell. The kitchenette had dirty, greasy dishes, plates, and glasses, and both the blankets and sheets smelled bad. The old window and door were difficult to close. There was only one towel per person, and extra ones, if available, had to be paid for. The photos show the most beautiful houses. They accept pets, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We rented the small studio for a weekend. It’s one of several lodgings on a beautifully kept, green, wooded property just outside the village. The setting is lovely, the hosts are charming, and the peace and beauty made it easy to relax. The renovated Norman cottage is gorgeous, tastefully and skillfully done, and equipped exactly as we expected. We slept wonderfully, and its location between Etretat and Fécamp makes a great base for excursions. There’s an exceptional bakery and butcher in the village, useful for guests in the larger lodgings who want to cook; the studio had more than enough for us. We’d be delighted to return, perhaps with our children and their partners if schedules work out. Bravo to Mr or Mrs CHAMPION for the hospitality and kindness. You can tell how much care you put into the place, and the estate reflects the calm you bring. It’s already so beautiful that I can’t think of any improvements to suggest. Thanks again, and we hope to see you soon!

We’ve just left the tiny studio, which I nicknamed the dollhouse, after three days in this idyllic spot. The owners welcomed us with open arms and were incredibly kind. Don’t hesitate, you won’t be disappointed. Hope to see you again soon, Mr. and Mrs. Champion. Nathalie and Patrick from Boulogne.

A lovely cottage in the Normandy countryside, with peace and quiet all around and the beaches at Yport, Etretat, and Fecamp nearby. Our hostess was discreet and very kind. I highly recommend it.
