Htel Saint Antoine

There was an unpleasant smell as soon as I entered the hotel. The room was small, dated and clearly in need of renovation, so it felt overpriced.

Mrs. Natalie was very friendly, and the welcome was excellent. Beyond that, though, the guesthouse felt quite dirty and was in an unpresentable state. It’s a 1962 building where everything seemed original, and the place left me with an impression of sadness and squalor. Breakfast was served somewhere that didn’t meet hygiene standards. I’m sorry, but despite the owner’s kindness, I won’t come back. Staying here takes a lot of courage.

We were very pleased with our stay and will definitely return. The welcome was warm, everything was impeccably clean, and we were comfortable. There were thoughtful extras like hot drinks in the rooms, a wide breakfast selection and a handy ground-floor bar with a fantastic manager. It’s very close to the train station, with a bus stop 30 meters away, plus car and motorcycle parking.

The hostess was nice, but coming back to that smell was such a shame. The room felt expensive and ridiculous. The toilet had a macerator, and the noise made for a poor night’s rest. The floorboards creaked a lot too, and you could hear everything. What a shame.
