It’s a beautiful setting, and the main building, a former monastery, seems full of history. The grounds are lovely, there’s a sweet dog, and several shops and the town centre are within walking distance. Both hosts collected us from the train and even took us back after our stay. We’ll definitely return.

The whole region is gorgeous, a dream for hikers and bikers, so we’ll definitely come back. The hosts are a lovely young couple, with their parents helping run this beautiful B&B tucked behind a sloping garden. From outside, the building looks a little odd in the modern activity area, but once you step inside it feels like entering Narnia. The home is very traditional, apart from the veranda/breakfast room, and there are quite a few stairs. They’ll carry your luggage up if you need help. A big wrought iron pool house stands beside a little chalet, and the decor has been gathered from all over the world. They speak many languages and are queer friendly, generous, and helpful, with tips and addresses if you’re not sure where to go or eat. And they have the Cutest Puppy Ever!!!

The owner is friendly, and everything was clean, quiet, and pleasant. Breakfast was good too. It’s only a few minutes’ drive from Le Puy.
