The place resembles a medieval house, but it seemed badly kept. It's right beside the railway, so every train can be heard. We entered through what felt like a storage room, with the owners' coats and shoes and vegetables that didn't look fresh. The kitchen was another unpleasant sight. Dishes and meal leftovers stayed on the table or in the sink for a long time, so we saw them when heading out in the morning or returning in the evening. The stairs and first floor were cluttered with laundry, clothes, and other belongings. The guest rooms are on the top floor. Ours was large, as was the bathroom, but both were dirty. The floors felt sticky, carpets hadn't been vacuumed, and the bathroom had mildew and stains. The furniture was full of junk and things left by previous guests. The bed was uncomfortable, too short for anyone over 1.80 cm, and the mattresses were old and too soft. We weren't sure the sheets were clean, so we slept in our sweats to be safe. The towels were borderline, too. The whole property smelled odd, like old food, dirty laundry, and decay. We kept the window open the whole time because otherwise it was unbearable. We had breakfast once in the living room. It was a typical French breakfast, but the table, dishes, and glasses were dirty, and the untidy room was full of the owners' personal things. It was the worst stay of our lives, and calling this place a b&b is a shame. The glowing reviews had led us to expect something completely different, and we can't explain the gap between them and what we found. We felt cheated out of our money. The cancellation fee was the full amount, so we couldn't cancel, but we still couldn't make ourselves stay for all the nights we'd booked. At least the shower water was hot, and we could park in the back yard.

A very warm welcome, and the paintings and furniture really invite you to dream.
