Bastide Saint-Estève

We enjoyed the spa, with its sauna and hammam, and the estate’s vineyard views were lovely. The hosts were warm and helpful, and breakfast featured delicious local food.

The owners were a pleasure to meet, and had helpful ideas about places to visit, wine to buy, and where to eat. We stayed for a full week, with something delightful each day. The hotel looks out over vineyards and is well placed for pleasant walks nearby. Our room was spacious, with a distinctive blend of old-fashioned character and modern, quality decor. The bed was large and comfortable, too. Breakfast was excellent and should satisfy even a demanding gourmet. A lovely spot for a relaxing visit.

We spent two nights here during our three-week honeymoon trip around France, and the stay became one of the highlights. It cost more than anywhere else we stayed, but felt worth it. The hosts were gracious and full of recommendations, and the property was charming and well kept. We had a lovely time swimming, using the steam room, and eating breakfast on the patio. The wifi was excellent, too. I’m not sure when we’ll make it back to France, but we’d book here again.

For me, this is what a stay away from home should feel like. The hosts were kind, the house was tranquil, and the beds were comfortable. I loved the quality products, textures, colors, and marvelous art objects. Beauty, sophistication, and simplicity all came together here. One of my best travel and accommodation experiences in recent years.
