Gite Armieux

We stayed in the little house with one bedroom, a bathroom with a huge shower, and a small living room with a kitchen and a sofa that turns into a queen bed. It had everything, including coffee pods and Wi-Fi, and we ate under the pergola every day. I did wish Jacqueline's private pool was available to guests. She made our mornings lovely with croissants, baguettes, homemade jam, and even some really good melons. The melon skins are for the horses, by the way. There are four horses, ducks, and two lovely Labradors, and you can watch flamingos fly overhead. Our dog Maya had a brilliant time playing with the Labradors, so it's a great spot if you're bringing a dog. Look into the beaches for dogs too. It's about five minutes from the center, with its shops, restaurants, and Tuesday and Friday markets. The nearest beach is a five-minute drive and has free parking. It's a huge, quiet stretch, though there's just one bar there. We paid €26 for two tomato and mozzarella baguettes and water, then saw the owners scold an employee because we couldn't eat our own sandwiches there. Along the pedestrian street toward town, there are more equipped beaches with parking for €6 for the day. For groceries, there are greengrocers along the main road, or bigger supermarkets about a 20-minute drive away. I'd bring a cooler with water and sandwiches for the beach. Jacqueline's daughter works at a restaurant, and we were told to try the paella and bull meat. Watch your speed, tickets do happen. It was a lovely mix of nature, sea, and fun, and the quiet of the place was a welcome break from the day's bustle.
