I don't ski, but this was a great stopover on a long drive. The space and facilities are good for the price, especially with everything in one area, and the helpful reception staff made a nice first impression. There's a hot buffet restaurant and a good continental-style breakfast. It seems especially handy for families staying a few days, or if bad weather could leave you stuck there. Depending on your age, getting to the food might feel like a longer walk, and winter ice could make it slippery. The day before, the forecast mentioned sleet or light snow, with none expected that day. Around the la Moselle 'base camp' area there were only a few patches, enough for two or three snowmen. But about a kilometre up the road, light snow started while I was driving. By the time I reached reception it was settling, and by mid-evening everything was covered. With suitable tyres or a 4x4, it was no problem, though colder weather and ice could be another matter. Many thanks.

The setting is lovely, with beautiful nature, and the food was good. My husband, some friends, and I stayed three nights. The rooms were okay, but there was only one towel, and getting a fresh one cost €7 per person. The spa was fine, although the water felt a bit cold. We also tried the shiatsu massage. It was €24 per person for 20 minutes, and it wasn't good at all. Honestly, my dog could do the same. Not worth the money, and they should improve it.

I was happy to find clams at dinner, and you could take as much as you wanted. Breakfast and dinner were included, the price was reasonable, and the hotel has a great view. My clean room had a balcony. One thing to bring along: soap, since there wasn't any in the bathroom.

The location is excellent, but there was no outdoor furniture. I'd avoid the half-board option.
