Le Chalet

The service was just as disappointing as the food. The waiters were unfriendly, inattentive, and seemed eager to get rid of customers. The food was bland, badly presented, and far from fresh, while the price was much too high for what we got. For me, that was the first and last time I’ll ever go there.

This was for my birthday, so the poor service and food presentation were especially disappointing. We were told to arrive by 12:30 PM at the latest, and got there at 12:15 PM. We were the first guests, yet two tables that came in later were served well before us. After ordering, we waited 45 minutes for our appetizer, and it arrived at 2:30 PM, just as we were leaving the table. Dessert came at 2:00 PM, when the manager told us the restaurant absolutely had to close at 2:30 PM for personal reasons. We hadn’t meant to spend two hours at the table. I understand there can be constraints, but the manager should explain them when the booking is made so customers can avoid these problems. They need to improve quickly if they don’t want to lose more customers.

We were satisfied with the meal and our overnight stay. The welcome was friendly, and I think the small renovation announced by the new owners will be a good thing. Good luck to them.

The meal was good overall, but I was very disappointed. The €26 menu felt too expensive for what was offered, and the presentation needs work. We were asked to arrive before 12:30, then waited 40 minutes for our starter and were later told to leave before 14:30. I think there’s a communication problem.
