ibis Styles Paris Massena Olympiades

I’ve stayed at Ibis Styles Paris Masséna Olympiades twice now. It’s in a great spot, just steps from a tram line and an easy few-minute walk to Olympiades metro station on line 14. The staff are welcoming, the room was very clean, and the area is quiet. What more do you need?

The staff were very polite, and the rooms clean and comfortable. Good breakfast too, with everything you need in a hotel. The omelet was the best I’ve tried in a hotel. It runs out quickly, but they can make more if you ask.

We booked two rooms on the sixth floor, and the main problem was the air conditioning. It didn’t work at all during our stay, and with Paris in very hot weather the rooms stayed at 28-30°C. It was extremely uncomfortable. I told reception, but nothing was done. Other guests had the same complaint, so it wasn’t an isolated problem. The staff were friendly, helpful, and professional throughout, including when dealing with things outside their control. We also had a great arrival: we reached the hotel well before the usual check-in time, and they kindly let us into our rooms much earlier than expected. Breakfast was average, with a decent but basic selection. Scrambled eggs and a wider choice of fruit would have helped. The hotel is a bit far from the city center, but the neighborhood is peaceful and has a good range of Asian restaurants as well as French cuisine. The nearest metro stations were about a 10-minute walk, and it took around 30 minutes to reach central Paris by metro. Helpful staff and a calm area are real strengths, but the lack of working air conditioning during a hot summer stay seriously affected our comfort. With that fixed, it could be a solid budget option.

Breakfast was my only complaint. There weren’t many options, with very little fresh fruit, only boiled eggs, and no vegan milk. The hotel itself was quiet, surprisingly so for Paris, and quite new. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms nice, and the air conditioning worked well and quietly. The rooms were small, but that wasn’t a problem for us. We’d recommend it and would return if we needed a hotel in this area.
