Mémorial-Sleep in Normandie

We arrived at the listed address and found nobody to meet us, with no reception at all, so we were left without a room for the night. We’d booked a studio through booking.com, the reservation was accepted and the establishment charged our card. We’d also given our late arrival time, between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the latest, but the number we provided stopped answering after 5:30 p.m. It’s hard to give this place even a quarter star. Avoid it, this feels like a ghost apartment hotel.

The hosts were almost impossible to reach, and their texts felt rushed. When we had to leave early and find somewhere else in a hurry, they seemed focused only on getting the keys back quickly, not on why we were cutting the stay short. If you didn’t reply immediately, they sent a curt follow-up. After the keys were returned, they went silent and left us to sort things out ourselves. Don’t expect understanding or a professional attitude, and any hoped-for goodwill felt about as likely as a raised middle finger. The building itself was run-down, with a broken door and a strong sense of insecurity. It wasn’t the sort of place you’d want for a vacation. Worst rental experience I’ve had. Avoid!
