Le Bellevue

There are better places for the same price. Calling this a 2 star hotel doesn’t make the shortcomings acceptable. The standard room was below average, with an outdated kitchen that wasn’t really usable for cooking and a very small bathroom that didn’t feel up to 2020 standards for the price. There was also a musty smell. The free parking spaces were so tight it was hard to open the car door properly.

We’ve stayed here before and would come back again. It’s clean and comfortable, the staff are friendly and helpful, and it’s excellent value. Public transport is right outside the door. The bedrooms and apartments are a bit small, and the immediate neighborhood has become somewhat run down in recent years.

There are four free parking spaces behind the hotel, and WiFi is available, though using it requires agreeing with the provider that your email address and phone number can be used for commercial purposes. We stayed in the studio economique, a cozy room with wooden beams. It was clean, the bed was very good, and the host was friendly and busy helping everyone, in French.

The backup toilet paper was individually packaged and pink, just like the roll already waiting in the bathroom. That kind of attention to detail made me think The Hotel Le Bellevue really cares. We had a nice room, probably the least gloomy one in all of Normandy, and I slept great. The air in the room was fine too. Thanks for going the extra kilometer. Five stars Bellevue!
